Information You Provide
Search Terms
When a name, county, or other search term is entered into a search tool, that query may be sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Chase County Inmate Population does not keep a separate site-side log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to review and respond. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal duty, court order, subpoena, or similar requirement applies.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical information when pages load. That information helps measure performance, diagnose errors, and understand general use patterns.
- Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on pages.
- Referring website, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support advertising or analytics. A browser can usually block or delete cookies. Some features may work differently when cookies are limited.
How Information Is Used
- To keep pages available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the correct outside search provider.
- To learn which Chase County record pages are useful to visitors.
- To detect broken links, errors, abuse, or security issues.
- To display advertising that may be based on broad visitor interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to jail rosters, sheriff and court pages, Kansas corrections resources, federal inmate tools, immigration detainee tools, public-record statutes, and third-party search services. After a visitor follows an outside link, that other website's privacy policy and terms control its collection and use of data.
Advertising partners may also use their own systems to recognize activity across websites for interest-based ads. That tracking, when it occurs, is handled on their platforms rather than through a Chase County government record system.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a mailing list. It may be made available to the limited groups below when needed for site operation, legal compliance, or a visitor's requested action.
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, regulators, or government bodies when required by a valid legal order.
Security Practices
Reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards are used for information handled through this site. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed to be fully secure, and no promise is made that unauthorized access, data loss, or technical failure can never occur.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, a request may be sent through the contact page so deletion can be reviewed.
Your Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by this site.
- Request correction of inaccurate information provided directly by you.
- Ask that directly submitted information be deleted, subject to legal needs.
- Opt out of some processing where an opt-out right applies.
Policy Updates
This Privacy Notice may be revised as site features, laws, or service providers change. Updated terms will be posted on this page with the revised effective date or posting date.
